A comparison of the benefits, Risks & Effectiveness of all Bariatric Surgeries.

How do they work?

  1. Gastric Sleeve surgery is a minimally invasive procedure performed using laparoscopic surgery. It involves creation of a thin vertical sleeve of stomach and separating it from the rest of the stomach. While this sleeve is maintained, the rest of the part of the stomach is removed.
  2. Gastric Bypass surgery involves isolation of a small portion of the stomach from the rest, which is then attached to the small intestine at a reasonable distance.
  3. Gastric Band surgery involves a Lap-Band that is placed around the upper part of the stomach, creating a small pouch-like structure in the stomach. *Results May Vary Person to Person.

Benefits of each Surgery

  1. There is a slim possibility of leak, bleeding and post-operative stenosis in Gastric Sleeve.
  2. There could be minor risks including digestive problems, ulcers bleeding, leak, and narrowing after Gastric Bypass.
  3. There could be minor complications including infection, erosion, or occasionally slippage of the band, even though the Gastric Band comes with a high safety profile. *Results May Vary Person to Person.
